10 Ways to Take Care of Your Skin

Skin is a beautiful thing. It comes in a variety of hues and pigments that give humanity a unique image. No one is the same – not even a single finger print matches another – yet we are all individuals sharing a commonality in life; we are all people living in the same world. The environment can be harsh to our skin and we are stuck with it forever so taking good care of it is an important step. Starting sooner will benefit in the years to come and it’s never too late to adopt some helpful practices in order to improve the health of your skin and the confidence you gain from it.

1. Develop a Skin Care Routine

Wash your face every morning and every night using more than just water.

Find products that will:

– cleanse

– tone

– moisturize

– exfoliate

And if your skin is prone to being irritated look for products that are hypoallergenic, chemical free, and are free of irritants like dyes and scents.

2. Identify Your Skin Type

You can either have oily, dry, combination, or normal skin. Figure out which one you have and adapt your skin care regimen accordingly.

3. Remove Makeup at Night

Nobody wants to wake up with a crusty face. That’s never pleasant, but your skin can’t breathe if it’s being suffocated by makeup 24/7 either.

4. Go Naked

For the same reasons you don’t want to keep your makeup on at night, it’s nice for your skin to have a break.

5. Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Not only will you be able to have more true and vibrant colors, but it gets all of the transfer of oils off the brushes as well. There’s nothing like the feeling of a clean, soft brush on your skin.

6. Change Your Pillow Case

Your skin creates more oils at night, so just like it’s a good idea to clean those brushes, changing your pillow case will help with blemish control.

7. Avoid Touching Your Face

Oils can get transferred among other things. No need in having unwanted breakouts or potentially getting sick from pathogens.

8. Wear Sunscreen or Makeup with SPF

Protect your skin from UV rays even on cloudy days and in the winter. Just because the clouds may be hiding the sun doesn’t mean they’re protecting you from sun damage.

9. Watch what food you’re eating

Certain foods may cause you to break out. Having a healthy diet and keeping allergies in check will help keep the pimples at bay.

10. De-Stress

Find ways to relieve stress from your life. Your body isn’t meant to be under a lot of pressure and your skin will show outwardly how you’re feeling inwardly.
